NFRW President Calls for Unity in Republican Convention Speech

'Women support Trump! Women ... will unify the party.'

CLEVELAND - Carrie Almond, president of the National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW), called for unity in the Republican Party and encouraged everyone to "get on board" during her speech to the Republican National Convention at Quicken Loans Arena this afternoon.

"From Nebraska to New Hampshire ... across Ohio, Wisconsin, and Louisiana, here's what I'm hearing. Hillary Clinton does not speak for all women," Almond said. "She doesn't speak for the women in Kennebunk, Maine, who told me, "Get out there and tell everyone: Women support Donald Trump!"

Almond told the convention about the NFRW's nationwide "Destination: White House" campaign bus tour, which has traveled more than 11,000 miles to 23 states since May in an effort to register women to vote and to rally women behind our Republican nominee.

"This year, we're so committed to putting a Republican in the White House that for the past two months, I've traveled the country in a red, white and blue RV, named Rosie after my grandmother," Almond said. "... We're not resting until Election Day. ... Women, after all, are the ones who unify the family. And we will unify the party!"

The NFRW's video featuring Republican women leaders and Federation members was also shown during Almond's speech. A full transcript of the speech is available at www.nfrw.org/news-articles-20160718.

Founded in 1938, the NFRW has thousands of active members in local clubs across the nation, making it one of the largest women's political organizations in the country. The grassroots organization works to promote the principles and objectives of the Republican Party, elect Republican candidates, inform the public through political education and activity, and increase the effectiveness of women in the cause of good government.
