Republican News and Voter Information

For Mercer County, New Jersey

Along with Economic, Local, State & National GOP and other Political News

Dear Friends,

We are so grateful for our many blessings of family and friends. As we look back over this past year, we are especially grateful for the many new friendships we have made across our great state and around the country.

The Christmas season is a time of reflecting and renewing our commitment to our faith, family and communities. May we continue to strengthen them in 2013.

We wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Dear Friends,

Susan and I wish you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving. Here in the Kyrillos home we have much to be thankful for this season. Our family has been blessed.

Thanksgiving is a time during which we come together with friends and family and reflect upon all that for which we are grateful. It is especially important in times of crisis and hardship to surround oneself with loved ones and take a moment to think about what is truly important. The hectic nature of our days will return soon enough, but today we pause and give thanks.

I am thankful for my family, and for our many friends and the support you demonstrated over the past year. I am also thankful that I am a New Jerseyan and an American. I am thankful that New Jerseyans are tough and that we come together, especially in times of crisis. In fact, that is the true spirit of Thanksgiving - people coming together, even if just for a meal.

We will rebuild and renew stronger and prouder than ever. That is the American Spirit - and that is what I am thankful for this year.

Best,

Senator Joe Kyrillos

Dear Friends:

I am humbled and honored to have been my party’s nominee for the United States Senate for New Jersey. I want to thank you for all you have done to help make this possible and for your steadfast support.

While we have come up short, I will forever be proud of our campaign and believe we can all hold our heads high. More than 1.2 million people voted for me and I am grateful for their confidence.

We ran an issue-oriented campaign that contrasted my vision with that of Bob Mendendez. Though some in the press were disappointed we did not get personal, those of you who received our communications know we consistently drove our significant differences on jobs, the economy and other issues including his record and how our visions for the future of our country are drastically different – more of the same versus a new and better way.

Our campaign endured some bad breaks. Hurricane Sandy brought devastation to our state, rightfully took attention away from the election and contributed to a record low turnout for a presidential year. This was particularly pronounced in strong Republican areas and no doubt contributed to Governor Romney’s wider than expected loss in the state.

But Bob Menendez beat us and I congratulate him and wish him the best.

As Susan and I have always said, our campaign was never about me. Our campaign was always about what type of country, what type of future, we will leave to our children. Our campaign was always about whether we would continue to be a country where anyone can get ahead through merit and hard work; whether we would be a country that would preserve the American Dream; whether we would be a country that had jobs and opportunity for all.

I was always going to be a Senator one way or another and I will continue fighting for those beliefs and work hard to help rebuild our state and make New Jersey and America stronger, as a member of the State Senate.

Many thanks to my close friend Governor Chris Christie, my colleagues in the Legislature, our committed county chairmen, our nearly 8,000 donors, and the hundreds of volunteers who helped us along the way.

I have no regrets; I wanted to offer a chance for people to vote for me, and for a different and better way. And I loved every minute of the campaign.

Again, on behalf of the entire Kyrillos family, thank you for what you have done for me and for what you will continue to do for our state and our country. May God bless you, our great state, and may God continue to bless the United States of America.

With best wishes,

Sincerely,

Senator Joe Kyrillos

What They're Saying about Joe...

Kyrillos is stressing the need to hold the line on taxes and government spending, while avoiding far-right positions on social issues. He’s also been a longtime close ally of Gov. Chris Christie.

"Menendez, on the other hand, is a dependable Democrat who echoes his party down the line when it comes to spending and higher taxes.

[Kyrillos] is a solid candidate who would better represent New Jersey in Washington than the incumbent.

The Post endorses Joe Kyrillos."

"Republican U.S. Senate candidate Joseph M. Kyrillos Jr. is a hard-working, able state legislator who has demonstrated in his nearly 25 years of service that he knows how to reach across the aisle in Trenton, a quality badly needed in Washington these days. He has run a strong, albeit uphill campaign against Democratic Sen. Bob Menendez."

"The New Jersey race for U.S. Senate this year pits state Sen. Joe Kyrillos, a universally respected player in Trenton and a key figure in the state Republican Party for a decade, against U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez...Kyrillos has built a reputation as an advocate for business interests, pressing to lower taxes and regulations, which he sees as the best route to creating jobs."

This week’s storm has displaced many of us and tried our souls. But it hasn’t defeated our spirit. The New Jersey Spirit. As I travel across the state I see the spirit of New Jersey in the heroes who are digging out, cleaning up and tackling the consequences of the storm. We are a tough people, we are resilient and we don’t give up. For many months I have campaigned across the state as a candidate for United States Senate. I’ve seen the backbone and the character of our great state.

I thought it would be appropriate at this moment to suspend campaigning for a night, come together, enjoy each other's company and help our neighbors in need. That's the New Jersey Spirit.

I thought I’d send you a copy of the spot and the script before the ad went on the air.

“This week’s storm has displaced many of us and tried our souls. But it hasn’t defeated our spirit. The New Jersey Spirit.

I’m Joe Kyrillos.

As I travel across the state I see the spirit of New Jersey in the heroes who are digging out, cleaning up and tackling the consequences of the storm.

We are a tough people, we are resilient and we don’t give up. I have faith in our people.

For many months I have campaigned across the state as a candidate for United States Senate. I’ve seen the backbone and the character of our great state.

I want to thank Governor Christie for his strong bi-partisan leadership. His dedication has inspired us all.

But mostly I want to thank you, the good people of New Jersey. Your spirit, fight and generosity are an inspiration to America and the world.”

But it's not enough and Joe needs your help!Sign up here to come into our headquarters to make calls for Joe Kyrillos and the top of the Republican ticket this Saturday, October 27th.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT

Washington, D.C.'s Daily Caller Points Out Menendez's unforseen challenges...

From the Daily Caller: Joe Kyrillos hopes to score a major upset in November in his race against New Jersey Democratic Sen. Bob Menendez.

Kyrillos has released a seven-point jobs plan and earned the endorsement of several business groups, including the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the National Federation of Independent Business.

Kyrillos hit Menendez, now in his first full term in the Senate, for what he said is his unwillingness to compromise or work with members across the aisle — a quality that many Republican candidates this year, like Indiana’s Richard Mourdock, are highlighting as a positive.

And the APP Highlights the Women for Kyrillos Coalition Launch...

From the APP: Republican state Sen. Joe Kyrillos continued his efforts on Monday to establish himself as a strong candidate for women’s issues as part of his campaign to unseat longtime Democratic incumbent Bob Menendez in the race for a U.S. Senate seat this fall.

Kyrillos unveiled his “Women for Kyrillos” coalition during a midday rally behind the offices of M3 Realty on Oak Tree Road, where more than 100 supporters turned up.

Besides staking out a “pro-women” message, Kyrillos also said he would work to provide all Americans with a chance at achieving the American dream of financial success. Kyrillos has unveiled a financial governance plan that includes cutting the corporate tax rate from 35 percent to 25 percent and reducing tax rates by 20 percent for every American who brings home a paycheck.
